My Thoughts on The Accountant 2
There aren’t many words to describe just how much I enjoyed this movie! I laughed, teared up, and felt my heart grow with every brotherly interaction between Ben Affleck (Christian Wolff) and Jon Bernthal (Brax Wolff).
When it comes to sequels, I usually don’t have high hopes. Many second installments… well, suck—for lack of a better words. They rarely live up to the hype of the original. But this one? This one lived up to it, in my opinion!
I found the plot to be fun and engaging. Christopher is living, mostly, off the grid, while Brax is out enjoying life—trying to get a corgi to accompany him. Christopher is pulled out what seems to be retirement when an agent asks for his help solving a mysterious case, and in turn, he calls on his baby brother Brax for backup.
While Brax understandably shows some hesitation, it really feels like they’re picking up right where they left off. As they dive into their investigation, their relationship continues to grow—filled with jokes, a night out, and of course, fighting for one another.
It was nice to see these two brothers back at it again. Solving mysteries and beating up bad guys! It’s a fun sequence of events that made me feel giddy inside! The brotherly love in undeniable, even when they’re arguing.
My favorite scene is, of course, the bar scene, hands down! Christopher gets up and does this silly little line dance, then nearly starts a fight—basically egging the guy on just to give Brax an excuse to throw a punch. The still shot from that moment does Bernthal dirty, but it’s such a great scene! It’s fun, brotherly, and just a genuinely good time.
If you haven’t seen The Accountant 2 yet, then you won’t know about this scene. But this was one of the best scenes in the movie. It may not be the best written or directed, but it was engaging, funny, and perfectly captures their dynamic!
Final Verdict: Do I Recommend The Accountant 2?
This movie wasn’t advertised the way it should’ve been, but it is a fun, heartwarming ride — and honestly, just an overall great time! I’d recommend this to anyone wanting a silly action movie that touches on the the complexities of a brotherhood.
