This month has gone by so quickly, in my opinion! I went back to work after being off for Christmas, got through multiple application deadlines, and continued to try and find my place in my career. The first week back at work, we got snow! In Oklahoma! I swear, in my 24 years of life, I have only seen ice that is disguised as snow, but I haven’t seen snow in so long!
My personal life, Denver (my boyfriend) and I started up our weekly date nights and have been crushing our 1 movie a week goal! I have been trying to meet up with my friends more often, a goal I had last year but failed at. I also have read every day this month! I’ve finished 8 books so far in January and am working on finishing another one!
Below is an overview of what I have read and watched for the month, as well as my current reads! Hopefully youβre able to find something you may enjoy!

Books I Read
- Fourth Wing, Rebecca Yarros (01/03-01/08): this was my first introduction to romantasy (romance x fantasy) and I am now a Rebecca Yarros stan.
- A Very Bad Thing, J.T. Ellison (12/03/24-01/19): a good murder mystery that kept me on my toes.
- Margoβs Got Money Troubles, Rufi Thrope (01/08-01/10): very relatable to Gen Z, in my opinion.
- Iron Flame, Rebecca Yarros (01/11-01/16): the 2nd book of the empyrean series. Not my favorite, got quite bored sometimes, but i still liked it.
- The Eyes Are The Best Part, Monika Kim (01/09-01/17): the creation of a female serial killer & female rage. 2 of my favorite things.
- Beach Read, Emily Henry (03/10/24-01/21/25): a classic romance. Sunshine x grumpy. Enemies to lovers. I am a big fan of Emily Henry.
- We Had to Remove This Post, Hanna Bervoets (01/27/25): insight into the world of a social media content moderators, which was interesting but it was not what i expected (in a not good way)
- The Devil & Mrs. Davenport, Paulette Kennedy (01/21-01/29): I am a rather big fan of this book and thought it was a good read! It has a good amount of trigger warnings, thus I wouldn’t recommend it for anyone that could be triggered by the content.
Current Reads
- Psychology of Money, Morgan Housel
- The Final Girl Support Ground, Grady Hendrix
Movies I Watched
The Brutalist, 2024: A24 is showing out this year! A great movie that I enjoyed. Dropped it to a 4.5/5 since it is a really long movie!
Maestro, 2023: Bradley Cooper was once again snubbed for this film. Probably one of the best films Netflix has done.
Sing Sing, 2023: Probably one of the best A24 movies Iβve ever watched. This is the stuff I want to see from A24!
The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar, 2023: This was just super fun. It felt like a play shot for a film.
Due Date, 2010: Silly and goofy. I loved getting to watch RDJ not being Iron Man!
The Nice Guys, 2016: UGH! Such a stellar cast and such a funny and joyful script!
TV Shows Watched
Pop Culture Jeopardy!: I never thought I’d be watching Jeopardy in my 20’s!
Witcher: Finally on Season 3! Henry Cavil was made for this role!
How I Meet Your Mother: We picked this back up, for whatever reason. I love Barney, but boy howdy, I am not a fan of Robin. At all.
Severance: Season 2 released earlier this month, and now it is the show that Denver and I are watching every Friday. It is by far one of my favorite shows!
Bad Surgeon: A documentary about a surgeon who was implanting plastic tracheas. Interesting and shows the lengths people will go to in order to have the life they believe they deserve. Lies, deception and betrayal.
Escaping Twin Flame: Another documentary but about the Twin Flame Universe, a internet cult who “helps” people find their one true love, or in this case, twin flame. Again, shows the lengths people will go to in order to have the life they believe they deserve. Full of deception and betrayal.
Jerry Springer: Fights, Camera, Action: Another documentary. This one about Jerry Springer and his decent into a television host losing his morals for the sake of fame.
Dynasty: Just a good “girl show” full of drama!
That’s it folks! I hope you find something here that interests you! Anyway, until next months wrap up π
