March 2025 | Wrap Up

I keep saying it, but its true, this month went by so quickly! The cherry on top? I’ve been in a reading slump. Although I’ve read consistently, keeping my reading streak up, I’ve been struggling to enjoy reading. Maybe it’s because I’m trying to hit my reading goal or I’m just not reading the right books. But Denver and I watched many movies together and got to spend a lot of time together.

Spring Break was a few weeks ago, and I got to spend some time with my family, play The Sims 4, and watched some TV. Screens, screens, and more screens.

Overall, March was a good month, but I’m excited to see how April treats me!

books i read

spiral by bal khabra

I am saddened to say that I DNF’d this… I did. It is officially in my DNF graveyard. As someone who has spoken highly of Khabra’s debut Collide, I felt increasingly disappointed by the shallowness of Sage and the lack of personality of Elias. I wasn’t the most excited to read, yet another, sports romance, but I was excited to read this and unfortunately found myself disappointed.

You can find out why I was disappointed by reading my Spiral review.

the secret lives of church ladies by deesha philyaw

This read was for my works book clump and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I did a mix of audiobook and reading it via paperback, but thought it was overall great! I won’t lie, I want to re-read this one because I feel like I missed out on a lot of it.

the southern book club’s guide to slaying vampires by grady hendrix

This was also for a book club, but I found it hard to get into. Finally, I found myself enjoying the story after Chapter 20, but that just feels too long to begin enjoying the book.

Read over my review for full thoughts!
